Do you know how I came up with the idea of a crochet armrest cover? I have a naughty little black cat (devilish beast!) who started scratching its nails on the sofa posts. Now my sofa is no longer new, but I hated how it systematically got ruined by the cat. So I thought of creating crochet covers for the armrests using the granny square stitching technique. Why? Because it is extremely flexible: you can make smaller or bigger squares, according to the dimensions of the armrests you need to cover, and you can easily adjust size, making rectangles or just adding rows to the square. But of course, if you think of all the beautiful crochet square designs around you can only imagine how many beautiful armrest covers can be created.
